This used to be a Fun House...

... but now is filled with evil..... dehumidifiers!!
(sung to the tune by Pink of course)

A DAY after our lovely Laundry Room Makeover, our bathroom shower, located directly above the laundry room, leaked throughout the walls and the floor down through the ceiling :(  Fun right?!

On top of needing to cut a hole in the ceiling of the laundry room, my Upstairs Office, located directly beside the leaky bathroom, also got its share of damage:

The door on the left, is the leaky bathroom, the quarantined doorway with plastic.... is my OFFICE !!

The above shot is of my office wall, demoed, exposing the leaky shower!!   That's as far into the room as we can get, the rest of covered in plastic to prevent mold from traveling.

We've lived a week now with constant humidifiers and the smell of wet mold, trying to figure out where to go from here! With no upstairs bathroom to use, we've been left to shower in our basement, which has been another room in need of a remodel!! SCARY!!!

Despite all the set backs this week, there are a few silver linings: I get to pick out new shower fixtures and floor tile for our main bathroom!! Since bathrooms are such a huge reno to undertake, it was always at the bottom of our re-design list.

Now I get to spend some time dreaming of tiles and fixtures :) Things are looking up already!! Hopefully we can get back on track with the office makeover and heal our laundry room quickly without anymore surprised !

The Young and the Fabulous

Any closet Soap Opera fans out there? I have to admit, The Young and the Restless is one of my many guilty pleasures! My PVR is always set to record the show and I love lazy Sunday afternoons catching up on "my stories"( as many of our Grandmothers would say!)

This week I was especially tickled when there was a Soap Opera Wedding!!! And the attire was out of this world adorable- very chic, very vintage, very Audrey in Funny Face. Love it!

Sneak Peak

With the Laundry Room is now done, I can show you a sneak of what we have up our sleeves for the Powder Room:

After 6 weeks of waiting for our special order to come in.... our house is FULL....... of Doors!!!

We're redoing all of the out-dated, hollow, wood veneer doors and replacing them with a style a little more interesting!!

Our Powder Room is getting a special touch: Frosted Glass :) :) :)

Laundry Room Completion

WOW, the day has finally come- We finished the Laundry Room! All it took was one rainy long weekend day to finally grab a chance to pull it all together!!

Are you ready for my VERY FIRST Before and After Reveal!!!! YAY!!

We went from THIS:

Drum Roll Please.

Exciting right?!

It took a while to get here, but I am SO excited to have the Laundry Room Finished. The biggest battle I faced with this project was the wall colour. You may have noticed through my progress, that the wall colour (the creamy-beige stripe) was coming across quite pink once all was said and done.

** That was one of the lessons I learned on this project: Colour Matching- Even though you take the chip in to get "colour-matched", the end result doesn't always come out that way. **

Because the base tone of the wallpaper was such a strong pink, it's all that came through when I had it colour-matched. I wanted the stripe to be more beige, but, C'est La Vie. Once Plan A didn't work out, I figured out Plan B- and I have to say, I think the end result actually turned out better then the initial idea!

I decided to pull from the silver of the washing machine and  the silver flower stems of the wallpaper to tie the two room together. I love how it turned out- The Powder Room ooozes Feminine Chic, and the adjoining Laundry Room balances it, by having just a touch of Masculine Charm. Exactly how I feel our Home Lives and Breathes.... a perfect balance of He and She.

The adjoining wallpapered bathroom is nearly done... that reveal to come soon!!
